Queenie is a 18 month old beautiful sweet momma that arrived at our rescue just a few days ago.  Queenie was an absolutely wonderful loving mom to 7 sweet babies, always tending to their every need.

Upon arrival at Pet Tails Rescue Queenie had a bit of a cough that progressed very quickly to the point where she began gasping for air.  After an emergency visit and x-rays last night with no definite answers Queenie was struggling even more to breathe this morning.  We rushed her to an Emergency Hospital early this afternoon that had a smaller enough bronchial scope small enough to see far enough down her trachea to see if there is something lodged in the area that is impeding her breathing.  To say this is a risky procedure on a kitty is putting it mildly...

But Queenie is strong.  I know that she has the will to survive.  She told me so. Thus we decided to do all that was in our power to do to save this girl.  She deserves a life...a beautiful life where she will have the chance to be the Queen that she is. 

I wear this heart of mine on  my sleeve.  It does not make sense that I should spend money that quite honestly - is just not in our budget.  We cannot afford $2,375-$3,000 estimate.  But my soul cannot afford not doing all that is possible for this exceptional y momma.  Queenie needs to be given every opportunity to survive.  I saw the pleading in her eyes....she wants to survive and I cannot (even though it defies reason) deny her this chance.

And so I come to you and humbly ask for help.  Please if you are able...help us give Queenie this chance of life.  Help us save her life.

ANNIE and BOCELLI

They love everyone but especially each other.  They do not discriminate on age, sex, gender…or anything else. There is no bias.

They are happy in their simplicity and express boundless joy at the potential play associated with a shoelace or crumbled piece of paper. 

They hug each other…all the time.  They wrap their arms around their sibling and blissfully wash each other until they fall asleep wrapped in the comfort of one another. 

Purring is perpetual and a necessity to express their express love, comfort and happiness. 

They fear absolutely nothing.  They trust everyone and everything. 

Their eyes melt your heart.  Hours upon hours could be spent just gazing into their eyes with wonderment.  Your heart has no escape from their magical ethereal presence.  It just envelops you…and you can feel your heart melting with every breath. 

They waddle when they walk and have chubby little bellies that they love to have rubbed.  And they love music….and the warmth of the sun..and oh so many wonderful things that we humans overlook and take for granted.  Everything is just perfect in their world.

They are happy little beings.

I believe they are simply magical.

How is it possible I have never met kittens such as ANGEL and BOCELLI before in all my years of rescue? 

Perhaps they are not of this world….perhaps they are the embodiment of furry little angels that have come to bless our path…to teach us to slow down and to recognize the simpler things in life and to be grateful for all that the universe has bestowed upon us. Perhaps they are here to teach us many lessons..but more of all love.  Simple, magical, mysterious love.

Yes, that is what I believe....
 

SO WHY ARE WE RAISING MONEY?

ANGEL and BOCELLI are estimated to be 14 weeks old.  They currently weigh 2.4 lbs.  They should weigh twice that weight.  They have all of their teeth and all their little toes.  They see, they hear and they waddle.  They play, cuddle and purr. They eat and use their litterbox.   And they love unconditionally.

And yet…there is something that is quite different.  They present as 4-5 week old kittens that have not yet quite learned the synchronicity of walking.  They do not jump or climb or engage in anything other than gentle play.  Sometimes they fall down and will look up at you like it was perfectly normal and they will stay put until your right them up.  They rest their little heads on the pillows on their bed and will just gaze at you…just as you are gazing right back at them in wonderment. It is mesmerizing.  Your soul is transfixed on these little magical creatures.

They appear to be PERPETUAL KITTENS.

We were advised that they are “simple”.  They will not go to Harvard…and probably not even make it to high school.  And that is perfectly fine with us.

We were told they could live weeks, months or even to the age of 20.  There is no way of knowing.  But quite honestly all of our lives hang in the balance and none of us know when it is our time to continue our journeys into the next realm.  So we all continue on like we have forever…..

And that is exactly what we want for these two little precious souls.   We want to know that we are doing all that we can for them so they will have the best lives possible.  We believe there is a possibility there could be some neurological or brain damage.  But we do not know.  What we do know is that their lives are worth more than their weight in gold multiplied by eternity.

And we need answers.

We are fortunate to have one of the very best nationally acclaimed veterinary hospitals in Boston.  Angell Memorial and their team of esteemed professionals and specialists have performed nothing short of miracles which I have personally been witness to. 

And our little ANGEL and BOCELLI have an appointment at Angell Memorial in 17 days to visit a neurologist for testing and evaluation in hopes of garnering additional insight and guidance for us to help them on their path to ensure the very best life possible.  Perhaps we will be able to get a definitive diagnosis….maybe even a potential treatment plan if that is the path that could be considered.  We just don’t know.  In my heart they are perfectly perfect right now…but there is more we need to know.

As a rescue we do not have the funds to support the anticipated cost for this visit and the tests that will ensue.  This quality of veterinary care is expensive and with two little souls we anticipate we will need at least $2,000 to cover costs for appointments, evaluation and tests.
