Pennsbury Kids

Hello!

We're the Moyer family and have lived in Yardley, PA for the past 10 years. We have 3 children (8, 14, 18) and have spent countless hours over the past decade volunteering with children (coaching, church, school). A month ago, we opened our own business (a cooking school for kids). Helping children has always been our passion.

Early in December, we had a house fire. Fortunately, it was in the middle of the day, and first responders from our town and four surrounding municipalities quickly responded and saved our house from completely burning to the ground. Unfortunately, 1/3 of the house will need to be rebuilt, and we've been forced to move out due to the smoke damage inside our living space.

During December, we've lived in 4 different locations and have finally found a space to live for as long as it takes while our home is rebuilt/restored. What could have been so much worse, fortunately for us, has become an inconvenience. We are fortunate to have great help from our insurance company, our friends, neighbors, and countless others who we can't even name that have been so quick and generous to jump in and help us with gift cards, money, meals, and prayers.

While we are now settled and living life from a different part of our town, the fire really made us realize how easy it could be to just be one bad break away from being jobless, homeless, or just pushed into a state of deep depression that seems impossible to recover from.

Since our passion is helping kids, we thought we could take the lesson we've lived first-hand from our recent house fire and channel all of the positive momentum towards a non-profit in our community that could REALLY benefit from all of this generosity.

We would like to support Pennsbury Kids. It's a 501(c)(3) (non-profit) that works directly with our community's school district. They work directly with district social workers to help meet a variety of needs for students in the Pennsbury school district. Things like grocery bills, clothing, housing, and other things that help out, like renting an instrument for band or buying a costume for a Halloween parade, clothing for prom, etc.
