Every day, countless families across the world face the heartbreaking journey of a loved one diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or other dementia-related diseases. The journey through Alzheimer’s is often long, confusing, and filled with emotional, physical, and financial challenges. I have family and friends who have taken on the battle of Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, but they don’t have to battle this disease alone. This is why we at Pedal for Alzheimer's ride. Through racing, I aim to raise funds that will accelerate research, provide support for families, and raise awareness of this growing epidemic.

Knoxville health expert Eddie Reymond announces the 2nd annual Eddie’s Tee Off for Alzheimer’s charity golf event that will welcome the public to join in the fight against Alzheimer’s. The event is set for April 14, 2025 at The Club at Gettysvue.

Reymond conceptualized this event in 2024 as a way to celebrate his birthday and chose to do so in a way that stretched his physical and mental endurance all while making a difference for a cause that is close to his heart.

“Cognitive health is so important and if I can help make a difference for the future of Alzheimer’s, I’m proud to push my mind and body to extreme measures,” Eddie Reymond said. “As I watched heroes like Pat Summitt and others face the disease, I wish I could have done more to help. There’s something inside of me that feels like I can help do that now.”

The event on April 14th is open to the public to golf, as well as spectator passes available for purchase. Awards for closest to the pin and longest drive will be honored. Proceeds will benefit Pedal for Alzheimer’s which carries on the mission to spread awareness and raise funds for Alzheimer’s research, education, support, and care.

Pedal for Alzheimer’s, Ltd. is a 501c3 non-profit charitable platform committed to organizing cycling events to raise money, create awareness, and provide education towards the mission of finding a cure for Alzheimer’s. The Pedal for Alzheimer’s organization was co-founded in 2017 by Josh Crisp and Michelle Brooke-Marciniak. Crisp, a Knoxville entrepreneur, and Founder of Solinity, in the senior care living space, is the Founder of Pedal for Pat, a 1,098-mile cycling event created to honor the legacy of the late University of Tennessee women’s basketball coach Pat Summitt who died of Alzheimer’s in 2016. Crisp founded Pedal for Pat out of a desire to extend the legendary Summitt’s platform by raising awareness and donations for The Pat Summitt Foundation and The Pat Summitt Alzheimer’s Clinic at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

A Pedal for Alzheimer’s Ambassador is a valued member of the organization who proudly bears the name of the organization, leads group rides in their unique locations, and carries the banner of the mission to spread awareness and raise funds for Alzheimer’s research, education, support and care.

I’ve been honored to be selected this year as an ambassador for Pedal for Alzheimer’s. This opportunity means a great deal to me, and I’m committed to bringing awareness and support to the fight against this devastating disease.

According to the CDC, an estimated 6.7 million Americans are currently living with Alzheimer’s disease, and that number is expected to rise to nearly 14 million by 2060. It’s a staggering reality—and one that calls for action.

We’re excited to announce a new adventure—it’s not just about the miles, it’s about

Midwest VP, John Holcomb, are teaming up to cycle 100 miles at the Elk River Valley

Gran Fondo this August. This event is held in middle Tennessee, about 75 miles

southeast of Nashville, and we need your help to make it count.

This duo is raising money for Pedal for Alzheimer’s, a wonderful 501(c)(3) nonprofit

charitable platform committed to organizing cycling events to spread awareness and

raise funds for Alzheimer’s research, education, support and care. Every dollar brings

us closer to a world where this disease is better understood, managed, and eventually

conquered.

But, this isn’t your typical ride…it’s a race. Holcomb vs. Mason. Mano-a-mano.

Ohio State vs. Michigan. Guy in the casual tee vs guy in the race gear. Who will cross

the finish line first? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure—this race is all in good

fun, and every pedal stroke is for a meaningful cause.
