Peace UCC in Santa Cruz has sent a team to Tecate, Mexico the past three years to build homes for families. We had planned to return in June 2020 to build tow more homes. But after much deliberation and contemplation, we have decided to cancel Peace's Tecate Housebuilding trip planned for June 2020.
Given the uncertainty and impact of Covid-19, we don't feel we can move forward with planning a trip of this nature.
With that said, the pandemic has heightened our awareness of the need for secure shelter. To this end, we want to send funds to the local construction team to build homes for families who lost housing to wildfires in October 2019.
