Luna is a 12-year-old long-haired gorgeous tabby and she is depending on you for some lifesaving medical care. Will you be her angel and save her life?
She came to PAWSBINK in 2020 with her brother, Charlie, whom she had lived her whole life with. Shortly after their arrival, Charlie succumbed to serious health issues.
Luna was so traumatized by the loss of her beloved brother that her whole personality changed, and she became fearful and aggressive towards other cats, as well as humans. She wouldn't allow anyone to touch her for six months. But the staff at PAWSBINK didn't give up on Luna. The staff created a behavior plan for as long as it would take to gently regain her trust in humans.
This rehabilitation work has taken over two years, but it’s been well worth the wait. Once Luna started trusting people again, she purred and head-butted for loves with staff. She let us know she was ready to find her new forever home. To begin the adoption process, all pets in PAWSBINK care receive a wellness check and updates of vaccines. Luna went to see a vet for her wellness check. While there a progressive thyroid disorder was discovered.
This put a halt to Luna’s happily ever after tale. The only hope for Luna to live a long and happy life in a new forever home is to receive thyroid radiation surgery. Sadly, Luna is not a candidate for the basic surgery and is not responding as well as we had hoped to the thyroid medications.
The surgery is expensive, but is her only hope and Luna has so much life left to live.
This is where Luna and PAWSBINK need your help. We need to raise the financial support for Luna's surgery. Our goal is to raise $1,600 to cover most of the cost of the surgery.
Luna is a beautiful, sweet, lovable, charming, silly girl who deserves her second chance at life. She's come so far in trusting people, please help us show her how amazing we humans can be.
Every donation, no matter how small, will help Luna one step closer to her forever best friend.
