We are NO Canyon Hills : a community of plant lovers, wildlife advocates, rural land stewards, preservationists, civic scientists, residents, and allies, who have joined forces to demand a subsequent Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for 'Canyon Hills', a proposed luxury gated development of 250+ lots in the Verdugo Mountains in Tujunga.

The development was approved almost 20-years ago on outdated information and threatens protected wildlife, including a young mountain lion known as #LaTunaPuma.

This week our story made the front page of the Los Angeles Times.

In February of this year, we started a petition which has garnered 165,000+ signatures and counting. We have since received official support from organizations like the Center for Biological Diversity, the Cougar Conservancy and the NWF, the California Native Plant Society, and others.

We are asking for donations to assist our organization NO Canyon Hills with legal fees as we make our case under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).

We are represented by Carstens, Black & Minteer LLP: a public interest oriented law firm specializing in environmental and land use law.

All donations are tax-deductible. Donations are made through PayPal Giving Fund, a 501( c )(3) charity. Donors receive a tax receipt from PayPal Giving Fund, which sends funds to our fiscal sponsor. We have established fiscal sponsorship through our friends at Hardy Californians under their nonprofit: Pasadena Native Plant Project. Hardy Californians have supported other local Sunland-Tujunga efforts such as the recent greening project at Apperson Elementary. We are thrilled to partner with this organization in support of biodiversity in the foothills.

We want to Protect the Verdugos: ancestral land and unceded territory of the Fernandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians and Gabrieleno Tongva.
