Pasadena Community Foundation

Hello everyone. This past January, the Eaton Fire ripped through the Altadena community in southern California.

This quaint and modest area is minutes from my birthplace and childhood home. There are many familiar faces, from high school classmates to family friends, who lost homes, schools and businesses to this devastating wildfire.

It was truly heartbreaking to witness from a distance, and the call to help rang loud & clear.

I thought of all the great times spent in this area and how much it would take to bring it back after the recent devastation.

When recalling all my previous birthdays, there have been many fantastic gifts from loved ones. After living in Texas for the past two years, I have felt the power of local community. This year I want to help those who lost everything back home.

As my 40th year of life approaches, I ask y'all to please join me and donate whatever amount you can to the "Eaton Fire Relief and Recovery Fund". Let us come together to resurrect this special city dear to my heart.

Hola a todos. Este enero pasado el incendio de Eaton destrozó la comunidad de Altadena del sur de California.

Esta area pintoresca y modesta esta muy cerca donde nací y a mi casa de niñez. Hay muchas caras familiares, desde colegas de la secundaria y amigos de familia, los cuales perdieron sus casas, escuelas, y negocios durante este incendio.

Partió mi corazón ver la destrucción desde la distancia, y el pedido de ayuda fue fuerte y claro.

Pensé en todos los grandes momentos vividos en esa area, y cuánto tomará para resucitar después de la destrucción.

Cuando me recordé de todos los cumpleaños anteriores, hubo muchos regalos fantásticos de seres queridos. Después de vivir en Tejas los dos últimos años, he sentido el poder de comunidad local. Este año quiero ayudar las personas quienes perdieron todo en mi barrio antiguo.

Con la llegada de mis cumpleaños, les pido que me acompañen con una donación en cualquier cantidad que puedan para el "Eaton Fire Relief & Recovery Fund". Espero que juntemos para resucitar esta ciudad especial cerca a mi corazón.

My name is Kyle, and I lost my home in the LA wildfires, particularly the Eaton Fire, which destroyed nearly 10,000 structures, including 6,000 homes. My goal is to help my city and the surrounding communities rebuild after this natural disaster.

I'm fundraising for the Pasadena Community Foundation (PCF).

This organization created the Eaton Fire Relief & Recovery Fund, which provides resources to community-based nonprofit groups to support families and individuals in Altadena (my town), Pasadena, and Sierra Madre directly impacted by the Eaton Fire.

The everyday folks in these neighborhoods with 9-5 jobs, families to care for, and debts to manage, are now facing profound loss and uncertainty. PCF's Eaton Fire Relief & Recovery Fund has been created to support these communities.

The past few days have been devastating for all of Los Angeles. I am starting a fundraiser for my birthday for the Eaton Canyon Fire Relief and Recovery Fund through the Pasadena Community Foundation (PCF) to support immediate and longer term needs to those affected by these destructive fires. PCF has seeded the fund with an initial $100,000 and I hope to support my community through this fund.

I recently had the privilege of moving to Pasadena, a wonderful and beautiful community now destroyed and broken. Anything helps. Thank you everyone and please stay safe LA folks!

Were students in Pasadena high school and were fundraising to help out our community after the destructive Eaton fires. Unfortunately these fires have affected many of our own friends and families.
