Pals For Life Foundation

Hi everyone!

As many of you know by now, early this spring, I was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation, a condition where the hindbrain is forced down into the spinal canal, in my case causing dizziness, balance problems, headaches, and periferal nerve damage and pain. I am scheduled for decompression surgery on October 2nd, and will not be able to return to my bartending job for at least six weeks.

I am incredibly fortunate in that I will be getting financial support from the wonderful Pals for Life Foundation during my recovery! As you can probably understand, this is an enormous relief and will allow me to focus fully on my recovery without any financial stress.

In an attempt to give back and support other local hospitality workers like myself, who may end up in financial distress due to medical situations, I am attempting to raise funds for the Pals for Life Foundation. I truly hope and believe that many of my friends, who appreciate all our local hospitality workers, are willing to donate, even if just a few dollars, to this very worthy cause! Small streams make great rivers!

On Wednesday, December 4th, we gave the first $25,000 raised through this GoFundMe with PFL’s $25,000 match to the employees of Larry’s. Thank you so much for your support! The staff was overwhelmed and thanks you also. Any money raised now through the GoFundMe beyond the first $25,000 will also be matched by PFL and either distributed to the staff in the next few weeks or be added to the fundraiser at Knots Landing on January 8th Thank you!!!! On Wednesday, November 27th, a car crashed into Larry's PX in West Chatham.

A favorite breakfast and lunch spot to many! The thoughtful and caring staff at Larry's will be out of work for weeks. This is especially hard during the holiday season. These folks are parents and caregivers to family members, and they need our help.

The Pals for Life Foundation is a 501(c)3 that began in 1995 to help give comfort and emergency financial assistance to individuals in the hospitality industry. Up to $45,000 raised through this GoFundMe will be matched by The Pals for Life Foundation and given directly to the employees impacted by today's incident at Larry's.
