Dear Friends and Vaishnavas,
We write to you today with a plea for support and unity within our cherished Vaishnava community here in New Goloka Dhama. Our beloved BKG Academy, which holds a special place in the hearts of our children, is facing two critical challenges that require our immediate attention and assistance.
The first challenge lies in the hands of an extraordinary elderly lady, Mother Sadhvi, a devoted disciple of Srila Prabhupada. For the past fifty years, Mother Sadhvi has dedicated her life to the service of our community through the distribution of sacred books. Her unwavering commitment to spreading the teachings of our revered spiritual master has touched countless lives and transformed hearts.
Mother Sadhvi's inspiration to support a Krishna conscious school for our community's Vaishnava children stems from her personal experience. Her own son, who has special needs, attended gurukulas (spiritual schools) for three transformative years. Through these gurukula experiences, her son has developed the practice of chanting japa, reading Srila Prabhupada's books, and engaging in Deity worship. Witnessing the profound positive effect that gurukula education has had on her son, Mother Sadhvi feels an unwavering conviction that we must provide this same schooling opportunity to the rest of our Vaishnava children.
At her age, Mother Sadhvi continues to embody the true essence of selfless devotion. Despite not having children or grandchildren of her own who play on the playground, she is now facing the arduous task of raising the remaining $16,000 balance to support the BKG Academy's playground. In the past year, she has already raised over $20,000! The weight of this responsibility falls solely on her shoulders, and it is our duty as a community to come to her aid.
Additionally, our beloved preschool is at risk of closure due to declining enrollment and insufficient funds. However, if we, as a community, rally together to relieve the burden from Mother Sadhvi's shoulders, we can redirect her efforts towards sustaining BKG Academy's preschool and providing scholarships for deserving students.
We invite you to join us in a heartfelt fundraiser dedicated to ensuring the future of our playground and preschool. Our goal is to raise $16,000 by August 21st when the school year starts. This will eliminate the remaining debt and facilitate Mother Sadhvi directing her herculean efforts towards securing a stable foundation for our children's education and happiness. With your support, she can offer scholarships that will open doors of opportunity for those who may otherwise be deprived of the educational nurturing our preschool provides.
