Mary's Legacy
From Loss to Love….. A Legacy
As many pet owner understands, the heart ache from loss of your four legged family member runs deep.
So it was for Mary Kernan with the loss of their beloved dog, Paco.
Taking her grief and blending it with the love held in her heart, she and her husband Jack, asked to walk the pound dogs to heal.
It didn’t take long, before Jack and Mary fell in love with a rambunctious girl named Itsy, who joined their family.
Mary saw the remaining sad pups and wanted to continue to walk. Mary shared her new adventure with me and, as friends do, we’d walk with the dogs chatting away. We’d pause and sit in the shade of the trees as they’d roll in the grass, chase leaves and watch them blossom.
The reward, wagging tails, sloppy kisses and gazes from soft, loving eyes.
From the seeds of loss and love, the lingering goal of, how can a bigger difference can be made, began.
Mary, who has never known a stranger, shared stories of the pound dogs and inspired others to join her mission and Paco’s Pack, the volunteer group, was born.
Today, over four years later, with the support of Joe Grimm and an amazing group of volunteers, the vision has grown. With successful placement of dogs, becoming a non profit organization to raise funds for medical needs and the many improvements for the dogs care, awareness has been raised and Paco’s Rescue Tails has followers across the country.
Mary’s dream of making a difference with positive socialization, basic training, improved living conditions and re-homing of lost and forgotten dogs in Carroll County continues to be realized.
We at Paco’s Rescue Tails lost our Alpha, Mary Kernan, on April 5th.
Mary demonstrated living a life with creative passion and a fiesty we CAN do this spirit!
Your laughter will be missed. We remain eternally grateful for your vision.
From the heartache of Loss, seeds of Love grew and Mary’s Legacy of love thrives.
Honoring Mary's wish we are making this request....
Please support Mary's Legacy of making a difference in the betterment of life, one dog at a time.
Thank you
