UNSHACKLED is celebrating 75 years!

UNSHACKLED, the longest running audio drama program in history, was born out of one desire -- to show that the gospel of Jesus Christ can redeem even the most broken. We do this through the art of audio drama, bringing to life true stories of real people transformed through faith in Jesus Christ.

Over the last 75 years, we've reached around the world, translating episodes into 14 other languages, expanding to podcasts platforms, releasing our own radio station, publishing an app, filming testimonies, introducing new and varied programming; and we're just getting started!

But it all began on September 23rd, 1950 with the desire to bring others in -- to show who God is and what He's doing.

UNSHACKLED is a department Pacific Garden Mission, a faith-based rescue Mission in the heart of Chicago. The Mission's Superintendent at the time, Harry Saulnier, wanted to let the world see the lives transforming right here on location. So, on faith, he began a radio show to dramatize these testimonies. God paved the way, and as they say, the rest is history.

And God is still at work. UNSHACKLED is a completely independent non-profit production company. We don’t receive any government assistance and rely solely on the donations of generous supporters like yourself.

Our desire has always been to tell powerful stories of transformation and to grow, improve, and increase our programming to proclaim the message of salvation even further.

UNSHACKLED has existed as a department of Pacific Garden Mission for nearly 75 years, telling true stories of lives transformed through faith in Jesus Christ. In fact, many of our stories have come directly from those staying here at the Mission!

But operating within a homeless mission has its challenges, including our UNSHACKLED office space. When you prioritize your guests, the staff offices are often the last place to receive attention. So we're looking to you, our listeners for support!

As we continue working to create quality Christian content through our audio dramas, children's show, History's Greatest Sermons, and more, it's our desire to update the UNSHACKLED office space -- removing decades-old furnishings and creating a more hospitable environment for both our employees and our visitors.

As a non-profit organization, we do not receive any government money & we refuse to take away from our production funds, so we're asking for your help!
