Mission & Purpose P.O.W prides itself on providing a safe, healthy and supportive community that empowers veterans to take control of their lives one smart choice at a time. P.O.W offers a single core program designed to improve the mental, physical and emotional well-being of veterans and military through specialized MMA-style conditioning, Yoga for Veterans and peer-to-peer support. The program focuses on improved physical fitness, emotional well-being, conflict resolution techniques and community resource education. P.O.W works with the physical and mental limitations of each individual program participant, providing skills (in-program) and resources (referrals) to help individuals overcome and adapt to these challenges. Participants are encouraged to embrace a service leadership philosophy and the principles of camaraderie, accountability, support, service, self-improvement, positive thinking and excellence. There are no costs associated with participation in P.O.W: Classes are always free, there are no “sign-up” fees or costs for gym membership and no special equipment is required. It is P.O.W’s goal to offer programs to veterans at no cost in perpetuity.
