Did you know Each year, approximately 2.7 million dogs and cats are killed every year because shelters are too full and there aren't enough adoptive homes. We are thankful our shelter is able to help lower this number. However we can't do it without your help.

Diana was hit by a car and left for dead. She was just a few years old with a lot of life left in her. Our plan was to get her the medical care she needed to be happy and healthy. Sadly that did not go as planned. Diana's spinal cord was completely severed. She had advanced heartworm disease. And as we already knew she had a broken pelvis and two broken legs. because of her spinal injury she would always be in a huge amount of pain and at risk for many infections. Because of this we made the very difficult decision to have her put down.

This GoFundMe has been set up to help raise money for a service dog for a local Utah Police Officer suffering from PTSD.  Service dogs are not easy to train nor is it as simple as filing out paperwork online and getting a certificate. 

Fully training a service dog for PTSD is a huge undertaking.  Some dogs need to learn a pressure point to help bring a person down from a PTSD anxiety attack, or turn on a light and so much more… it is so individualized and intensive, it isn’t as simple as many have made it sound.

Working to get a service dog for a local Utah Police Officer in need. It is something as a community I hope we can help with.  We will be doing other fundraisers, but this gofundme is to help get the training going. 
An average service dog can range in price from 10K-60K we are fortunate here in Utah to have Outreach Pawsabilities (501c3) #83-2281529 they are helping to train Athena (pictured above) for our local police officer.  They are doing it for the minimum cost of 10K.
