As students at UNT, we are creating this campaign to support Operation of Hope. This global nonprofit provides free cleft lip and cleft palate surgeries for children in underserved communities. Every 3 minutes, a child is born with a cleft condition—nearly 200,000 children each year worldwide. Your donation helps provide safe surgical care that transforms lives and restores confidence.
Around the world, thousands of children are born with cleft lip and cleft palate conditions that make it difficult for them to eat, speak, and socialize. In fact, an estimated 5 billion people globally lack access to safe and affordable surgical care, and for many families in low-income countries, corrective surgery is simply out of reach. In many low-income countries, access to safe surgery is limited or unavailable.
In high-income countries, cleft surgery is often performed within the first year of life. However, in underserved communities, children can wait years – or never receive treatment at all. Surgery can take as little as 45 minutes to change the entire trajectory of a child’s life.
Operation of Hope is a nonprofit organization that provides free reconstructive surgeries to children and young adults who otherwise would not receive care. Operating in more than 30 countries, their work not only changes faces – it changes futures. Their work not only changes faces, but it also changes futures.
This campaign was created to help raise funds to support Operation of Hope mission of delivering high-quality surgical care to children in need.

In a small village in Vietnam, a family is doing everything they can to care for their son, Tú. Born with a cleft lip, Tú struggled with basic tasks like eating, and daily life was far more difficult than it should be.
The nearest medical care was over six hours away, making treatment feel impossible.
Through Operation of Hope, Tú was able to receive safe, life-changing surgery at no cost. Now, he has the chance to eat, grow, and smile with confidence. Tú is just one of thousands of children who need this care.
Your donation helps give children like Tú a second chance at life.
