Open Arms Home for Children

Dear Friends:
On June 20^th I will begin a three-day 375 mile bike ride from Chicago to my hometown of Rocky River, OH in an effort to raise scholarship money for the Open Arms Home for Children, an orphanage in South Africa.

There is some symbolism to ending my journey at my parents' home in Rocky River. I was blessed to grow up in a safe, nurturing home in a wonderful supportive community. There are so many children in South Africa who do not have that opportunity. Thanks to Open Arms, more and more children who have been orphaned by the AIDS pandemic will have the chance to be in a secure environment where they will be raised, loved and educated.

My goal is to raise a minimum of $7,500 which will cover the cost of private school for two children for one year, but I know that with the support of my friends and family I can surpass that goal.
