Dear Friends,

We love you so much! Matilda is doing well, and we promise to keep you updated on her health and recovery. As she's almost 16 now and managing Cushing’s, we are balancing all options extra carefully. I promise to share more when I can!

Many of you have reached out to me to ask if you could help. I am so moved by your love. So completely floored. Thank you so much. I understand more than ever how Matilda is yours, too. She is OUR pup.

Matilda and I have everything with each other, and I’m sure we’ll be ok financially. In the meantime, I know so many other dogs are in greater need, especially senior dogs.

In collaboration with the beautiful people of Dogspotting Society, Matilda and I would like to offer this fundraising opportunity in her name. Can we pull from the deep well of love we have for Matilda and create a tidal wave of love for other senior pups?

There’s an incredible team of people at the Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary in Tennessee who devote endless support to senior pups.  They love them, care for them, and find forever families for them. A donation of $2,500 can cover food, vet care, and all other expenses for one senior dog for an entire year. An entire year! Could we provide support for two senior puppies? 

If a bunch of us gave only  $5 each—only $5!!!--we could. Imagine that.

There lives a group of senior dogs near Nashville Tennessee
A sanctuary provides for them, and funding is their plea.
Food, shelter, beds, and medical care, not to mention all the toys
The senior dogs get so much love! No worries, only joys
Some big, some small, some friendly, some shy, and some with special needs
They run and play and snooze in the sun, all many different breeds
Gray and white around their eyes, forever fosters are sought
I saw, I loved, they stole my heart and left me with a thought
A common thread I have with them, for geezerdom is near
A way to use my age for good and shed a smaller tear
Somehow, some way, it’s hard to believe although I’ll still be nifty
Even a buck will help these dogs! Just do it, I’m turning fifty!
