Support Savanah's Effort for Okanogan Farm
- Hi my name is Savanah I go to toltecalli hs and I'm raising money for Okanogan Highlands lavender farm and why I'm raising it for is to help the community out and what they do is they grow ,dry ,distill and infuse the plants and herbs on there farm to be used as ingredients for there products . To complement there 100% farm ingredients , then they carefully select local and sustainably sourced,organic and fair trade oils ,butters,essential oils and botanicals to craft there unique ,handmade products . And who are they ,they are a family owned and operated farm business ,located in the beautiful okanogan valley of British Columbia ,Canada . They are important because they trade fairly in the local market ,offering a variety of lavender products both online and at local farmers markets,but the true value of the lavender is in its capacity to support enviromental education and foster contemplation of this beautiful ecosystem in which we live in . And why I wanna raise money for it is because I like the idea of the farm stuff and I feel the money can really help for the farm and they can really use they money. The money will also go to the farm. 3 things I learned from summer school about the community service I liked it I liked helping the people out and we didn't really have to do to much crazy community things . my thoughts on volunteering were I really liked helping the people out I felt that I was helping people that can use some help . some details that we visited from organizations are like for instant when we went to go build houses it was important for us to use safety glasses and to wear gloves and a cape around our waste to hold our nails and other things and also some other details like the food bank we had to wear closed toe shoes and the people can only come once a month to the food bank for food .Things I learned about myself is I like the new person I have became ever since I changed myself to be a better person and to change my ways and to get my stuff together and put my mind to things I really wanna do I like the new me and I'm glad I came to summer school .some things I didn't really like is the bagging and sorting at food bank It was kinda boring but I'm still glad that I got to help out and volunteer. some things I found surprising were how much familys come to the food bank I find it sad but Im glad I got to help them out and register them in and I hope they get approved. how I plan to volunteer in the future is by going out my way on some free time and going out to volunteer and help out cause I know they would like some help and I really enjoyed volunteering in the food bank and I feel how we can make an impact on our community in the future is by maybe picking up trash around our community I just feel like if people wouldn't litter our community would be much cleaner and I feel I could help pick up trash so our community wouldn't be so dirty but I would like to volunteer in the future .
