Help Us Help Them

No one plans to face the devastating situation of homelessness but unfortunately it is becoming a reality for more young families. You can help us house these families by donating today. Since 1988 Ocean’s Harbor House has provided shelter, support and empowerment to over 6,500 homeless, runaway and abandoned youth and children. Currently families are the fastest growing group facing homelessness in our region and across the nation. People facing this situation often have nowhere to turn for help. In addition to successfully running our Transitional Living Program for vulnerable youth for over 20 years, we are now focusing our attention to this crisis.

Ocean’s Harbor House is preparing to open the only non-rotating shelter for female-headed families and their minor children in the area at our Windsor Avenue location in Toms River, NJ. We will provide a safe environment and a support network to help them to move toward a more sustainable and stable future.

Our house has achieved the zoning required for a longer-term shelter and we are waiting for final inspections before we can apply for our state license. Once we have received that, we will be able to serve families in our shelter as well as apply for additional State and Federal funds. Because daily expenses for the shelter continue accumulating while this process plays out, we need your help now. Your financial support WILL make a huge difference. No donation is too small.
