Build a Christian school for Haiti’s children
Hello, my name is James Yang, and I need your help to make a profound difference in the lives of the children of La Gonave Island, Haiti. I embarked on a life-changing mission trip to this beautiful yet impoverished place in 2019, and there I met a remarkable individual, Missionary Paul Kim. Witnessing the overwhelming challenges faced by the local community, especially its children, ignited a passion in me to stand by Missionary Paul in his life's work. Today, I share his heartfelt story:

Missionary Paul’s Mission
For the past decade, Missionary Paul has dedicated his life to being a beacon of hope on La Gonave Island. Situated in one of the poorest regions of Haiti, the island is made up of rocky mountains, making it difficult to farm and there is not enough water. It has been neglected for a long time. About 100,000 people live on the island, but they have no resources and the Haitian government has marginalized them. But amid these hardships, hope persists, particularly among the island's 30,000 children who yearn for an education. They don't have enough to eat or wear, but their dream is to go to school every day and learn.
One pivotal moment for Paul was in 2016 when he encountered a child following his mother to a hazardous construction site. This young boy's burning desire to learn was palpable, even though poverty had denied him the chance to attend school. With a tattered notebook and a worn-out pencil, he clung to his dream of an education. Witnessing this, Paul's heart ached. The child's mother earned just $1 a day, barely enough to provide food and shelter, let alone an education.
A Vision for Education and Hope
It is a dire struggle for families to send their children to school with less than $1 daily income. And even when they do, the poor educational environment and limited resources hinder their learning. This bleak scenario threatens Haiti's future.
Missionary Paul's vision is clear – to provide these children with a quality Christian education that can transform their lives and the future of La Gonave Island. He aims to construct a school where students can become disciples of Jesus and leaders in the kingdom of God, offering hope to the island and the world.

The Hope School
The dream is becoming a reality. We've secured the land next to the mission center and started construction. Our plan includes an elementary school, a middle school, a high school, a school church, and a single-mother house. In total, we aspire to accommodate 180 students and offer top-notch education. Our curriculum will include discipleship programs, instilling a biblical worldview from an early age, and nurturing well-rounded Christians spiritually, mentally, and physically.

The Hope Church
The Hope Church, part of the campus, will seat approximately 250 people. It will be a sanctuary for students to worship and also serve as a gathering place for school events, village weddings, and community gatherings. Here, we hope that many children will study the Bible and be baptized.
The Challenges We Face
The journey to build Hope School in Haiti is riddled with challenges. Security concerns and inflation have impacted the construction timeline. Despite these hurdles, we've initiated work on the foundation of the ground floor in a 2,500-square-meter plot. Unfortunately, due to financial constraints, construction has been temporarily halted. We're seeking your support, both in the form of financial assistance and your prayers.
Our goal is to raise $310,000 and your donation will be used to complete this transformative project. We require significant resources, including 30,000 building blocks, 3,000 bags of cement, and 1 ton of steel.
Your Support Matters
Your contribution, no matter the amount, will have a profound impact on these children's lives. If you are unable to donate at this time, sharing our cause with your friends and family can also make a world of difference. Your support will not only build a school; it will build a brighter future and bring hope to an entire community.
From the depths of our hearts, we thank you for your generosity and compassion. May God bless you abundantly for being a part of this mission to uplift the children of La Gonave Island, Haiti. Together, we can build a brighter future, one full of hope and opportunity.
