About Oakland Literacy Council (Oakland Literacy Friends)
Since its inception four decades ago, Oakland Literacy Council (OLC) has aimed to close the foundational skills gaps for Oakland County adults sidelined from managing their daily affairs and participating in workforce development and civic activities, fostering a more inclusive and prosperous community for all. OLC accomplishes this mission by matching adult learners with trained, compassionate volunteer tutors for reading, math or digital literacy instruction that is both flexible and customized because it is offered when and where the learner needs it and focused on the skills gaps and personal goals of the individual learner.
