This December, Numaan is raising funds for our reusable pads, school supplies, and student mentorship/tutoring programs to keep them running through 2025. These programs have a huge impact on primary school, secondary school, and college students in Oromia, and your support helps Numaan to make sure that these students have the resources they need to stay in school.
In Ambo, Numaan has partnered with Ambo University to produce and distribute reusable pads to young women and girls. Purchasing disposable pads creates a financial hardship for many of the university’s female students, so providing reusable pads allows them to focus their energy, and their finances, on their studies. Due to the success of the program in 2024 and the continued demand of reusable pads, we are raising funds to locally procure additional sewing machines for the manufacturing facility at Ambo University to support increased production.
In Bishoftu, Numaan has been working with internally displaced families since our inception in 2021. Since then, Numaan has provided school supplies for children in the village to set them up for a successful school year. In 2023, Numaan began a mentoring program that focuses on helping students to improve their grades and encourages them to stay in school through graduation. We have already seen remarkable improvements in school performance and attendance among these students, and your donation allows Numaan to continue this support and engage new students in 2025.
Make your donation count - the first $3,700 raised will be matched by the Numaan board!
Suggested donations:
- $10 provides school supplies for one child
- $25 books and uniform for one child
- $300 funds one mentor/tutor for 6 months
- $600 buys a new sewing machine
