On Friday October 20th, 2023 we will hold the 8th Annual Dave McAllen Memorial Golf Tournament in memory of our dear friend and former president, Dave McAllen, who lost his battle with cancer in March of 2014. In Dave’s memory, Graycor has raised over $7,000 annually for the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University. This year we hope to increase funds raised to support the Lurie Cancer Center in Dave’s memory as they work to advance cancer research, all with the hope of contributing to a world of more survivors.

Clinicians and scientists at the Lurie Cancer Center are working to develop innovative approaches to treat and prevent cancer. The breakthrough programs at the Lurie Cancer Center are bridging basic science and clinical care. Through these collaborative efforts, Northwestern is becoming a global leader in the delivery of personalized cancer treatment.

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) has designated Lurie Cancer Center as one of only 50 Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the nation recognized for their “scientific leadership, resources, and the depth and breadth of their research." It is one of only two in Illinois.

Lurie Cancer Center is a founding member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), an alliance of 28 of the world’s leading cancer centers devoted to defining and advancing high-quality, high-value cancer care. It is the only member center in Illinois to this cause that means so much to me.
