NCHC Fundraiser in Memory of Dr. Mark Lichtenstein
For more than 35 years my father provided selfless and unrelenting compassionate medical care to the communities of Northern Vermont. If Mark had it his way he would have continued this journey until the day he couldn't pick-up a stethoscope. Life had other plans. After a ten-year battle with early-onset Alzheimer's Disease my dad moved along to his next adventure.
Every part of my life has been shaped by my father's generosity, endless love for my mother, and spirit of service to the community. Remembering Dr. Mark Lichtenstein is not a single event but something I will carry with me for the rest of my life. My daughter will hear stories of her grandfather and wonder how she can live a life as full and rich as his. This is his beautiful legacy.
Help me leave a final note in my father's memory. He dedicated 35 years to the Hardwick Health Center and Northern Counties Health Care (NCHC), a non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center serving more than 17,000 Vermont residents. Mark loved NCHC and every part of its mission. Even in his last years with fleeting memory my dad still recalled many moments of his career and time with patients.
