Maasai School Goat Project
Please help me raise money to provide a sustainable school lunch program for Maasai children in Kajiado county, Kenya. My name is Zeke Vant Hof, and I am an 8th grader living in Portland, Oregon. I spent my 3rd grade living in Kenya with my family and during that time we visited this Maasai community and helped start a community solar project and the school lunch program.
I am partnering with Nimas Wish, a US nonprofit, and MANDO, a Kenyan nonprofit to create a sustainable way to provide a daily school breakfast and lunch program.
For the past six years MANDO has been providing a nutritious breakfast and lunch program at the Enkoireroi primary school. The program has improved the health and performance of the students and has increased attendance. This program has been entirely dependent on annual donations.
We would like to make this program sustainable and to be able to pay for itself; thats why we are creating this goat project.
School families will each donate 1 baby goat to the project and funds from this campaign will match goat for goat to develop a sustainable goat herd. Within two years, mature goats will be sold annually to pay for the lunch program.
