Support Next Steps: Vans for Special Needs Adults
Next Steps Adult Day Program is a nonprofit dedicated to providing adults with special needs the opportunity to lead enriching, fulfilling lives. We focus on promoting independence, enhancing social development, and supporting both mental and physical wellness through daily structured programming.
This mission is personal. My cousin, Michael Ruscavage, has autism and is non-verbal. Throughout his life, I’ve watched my Aunt—his mother—fight endlessly to ensure he could live a full and inclusive life. She was a pioneer in our community, helping to establish some of the first special needs programs in our local school district so Michael could learn and grow alongside his peers.
When Michael turned 21 and completed his time in the school system, my aunt was once again faced with uncertainty. After visiting countless programs and feeling devastated by the options, she finally discovered Next Steps. It was a turning point for our entire family. The care, love, and dignity this program brought to Michael’s life inspired me so much that I decided to leave my previous job and join the team myself.
I now proudly work alongside two incredible women—Executive Director Jennifer Dyer and Director Nicole Pichetto—whose compassion and commitment are the heartbeat of this organization. We are building something truly meaningful, and I want you to be part of it. I have organized this fundraiser to help us PURCHASE VANS to shuttle our clients back and fourth throughout the community.
