Freedom House for Homeless Veterans
Next Step is building transitional houses for homeless veterans and their families. The Jack Bradley Freedom House will be our first single family transitional home in our housing program specifically for veterans. Veterans will be able to live in these homes for up to six months with their family at zero cost. Next Step will pay for the family's groceries, case management, counseling and utilities. Established in 2002 in Fort Smith, AR- our mission is "Seeking solutions to homelessness through individualized case management with direction toward self-sufficiency.
David Dillmeier and the Dillmeier Glass Corporation has pledged $50,000 towards this project. Next Step broke ground on this project on June 5, 2018. The cost to build the 1,000 square foot house is approximately $85,000 and this project is set to be completed in September of 2018. This home will complement our 16-bed group home, the Buddy Smith House, which is also in Fort Smith, AR and whose house manager, "Cowboy" is featured in this video. Veterans will transition from a group home setting to a single house and regain their independence, all while continuing intensive case management from our professionally trained staff of social workers and counselors.
Next Step Homeless Services is a 501 (c) 3 charity and all donations are
tax deductible. 100 % of funds raised will go towards this housing project. Please donate today and visit our website @ www.thenextstepfs.org.
