In April 2025, the Newburyport Literary Festival (NLF) will celebrate its 20th year! We're planning epic events to honor two decades of magical weekend book talks each April across our beautiful and historic city. To help ring in NLF XX, we're running a special 20 for 20 campaign.

Here's how it works: We're asking you to please donate $20 (or more), and also encourage 20 of your friends and family members to donate $20.

How your gift makes a difference: All of our book talks are free to the public. Your generosity provides the crucial funds for our venues, author travel, graphic design, promotion, and more. All of our staff and volunteers are unpaid. So every bit we raise goes straight into running the festival. In other words, you make it happen.

The Newburyport Literary Festival needs you more than ever this year! Anticipated funding fell through, and we are on a sprint to raise 20K in 2 weeks. A celebration of literature, from fiction to poetry to non-fiction and biography, the festival includes author readings, panel discussions, and book signings held in venues across historic and beautiful Newburyport, Massachusetts. To ensure the festival remains accessible to everyone, the event is funded only through community donations.

With your help, we can keep this annual celebration of literature going. This year, the festival will feature an opening event on Friday, April 28, an exciting day of lively in-person talks and readings on Saturday, April 29, and an exuberant virtual experience on Sunday, April 30, with authors speaking from a distance—right in our own homes!

Donations are tax-deductible and go directly to the Newburyport Literary Association to fund the festival.
