New York Rolling Fury Corp

Hi,

We are the New York Rolling Fury, the only wheelchair basketball club for children and teens with physical disabilities in the New York/New Jersey area. Our athletes range in ages from 5 to 18 years old with varying disabilities. We currently have 22 children registered to play this season and they are all very passionate about basketball but have very limited resources. We believe that all children deserve the chance to experience the joy of sports and it shouldn’t be limited due to their physical ability or family’s household income. This is why we are asking for your support to help our team play this season!

As you can imagine, funding a competitive youth sports team includes finding affordable flights and accessible lodging along with enough minivan rentals to fit everyone, including all of the players’ everyday wheelchairs and sportschairs. In years past, we’ve traveled to play tournaments in Milwaukee, WI, Charlotte, NC, Atlanta, GA and the National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) Championship Tournament held annually in Wichita, KS. Last year, our Varsity team (ages 14 years and older) took 11th place in the National Tournament and our Prep team (ages 13 years and younger) took 12th place. We are so proud of our players and ultimately want them to succeed outside the team especially in school. Wheelchair basketball is one of the only sports where physically disabled children can receive full and partial scholarships to attend college. With your help, we can give these children an opportunity to travel and experience other parts of the country while getting the recognition they deserve from the college wheelchair basketball coaches who want to recruit them!
