Be a Provider - Addressing the Childcare Crisis in Duluth
Through the generosity of our partners, NHCC is on the cusp of being able to procure a new center and offer help to many more families. We plan to open a minimum of 57 childcare slots in Duluth. Depending on the generosity of those who read and share this, that capacity could be much larger. We have a strong desire to make a much bigger impact but are limited by our resources. NHCC is asking for donations of any size to help our community regarding the desperate need for childcare.
New Hope Child Care is a Non-Profit Corporation that was started right here in Duluth, MN in 2019. With the help of New Hope for Families, NHCC opened a Licensed Childcare Center in the Central Hillside Neighborhood with a 42-student capacity. From our humble beginnings, we have made our mistakes and had our successes and managed to find ourselves as an industry leader in the city of Duluth. It is our main priority to prioritize the well-being of our students while educating their minds and tending to their hearts.
When we started the need for child care in St Louis County was already a major concern that was affecting over 400 families*. In the last 5 years that number has grown to over 1000 families** and centers seem to be closing their doors more consistently***. We are aware that this not only takes a toll on family morale but also employment rates and the city’s economic development. New Hope Child Care is looking to make an impact on this crisis.
