Every hour in India 120 people are dying from Covid. One of the main reasons is a shortage of ICU beds. We can change that!

Want to join us in making a difference? The New Dover United Methodist Church is raising money for the Covid crisis affecting India and any donation will help make an impact. As the humanitarian crisis rises in India, New Dover UMC is asking for your support in reaching our goal of $38,000. This will outfit an entire ICU Room at one of India's most renown hospitals by the end of May. An ICU unit includes: bed frame, mattress, linens, pillows, respirator, iv stand, monitors, pulse oximeter and a blanket warming device.

All money raised will be donated to The Vellore Christian Medical College Foundation.

CMC was pivotal in caring for COVID-19 patients during the first surge in 2020. CMC had roughly 900 dedicated inpatients beds and 90 ICU beds for COVID-19 care. At its peak, over 100 New patients were admitted daily. Over 10,000 inpatients received COVID care at CMC, with an overall mortality of only 5.3% despite a substantial number of patients arriving in a critical state.

CMC is a Medical Center founded by an American missionary, Ida Scudder in 1900. She established an institutional structure for transformative learning to deliver equity in healthcare that is both patient-centered and population-based. Over succeeding generation, CMC's outstanding contributions have alleviated human suffering through interlinked excellence in healthcare, education, and research. The three pillars are interconnected through morally grounded professional teamwork and contextual understanding of local needs, ot deliver quality services to everyone in need, especially vulnerable populations. CMC is consistently recognized as the best private hospital in India. Located in Vellore, a city in Tamil Nadu, South India, with an estimated population of 650,000. Healthcare is provided to all comers independent of their background, gender, religion, or ability to pay.

The Vellore CMC Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization based in Manhattan, New York, with a President and Board of Directors. The Sole goal of the Foundation is to support CMC in her mission to provide excellent healthcare, education, and research. The Foundation has the highest rating as a non-profit from Charity Navigator (4-star), GuideStar (Platinum) and Better Business Bureau (Accredited Charity).
