On Saturday 28th of January 2023, TALEA Beer Co, Exceptional Women FC, and Kelewele NYC will be partnering to host a DJ fundraiser in support of the National Network of Abortion Funds. Exceptional Women FC is a pro-equality, mixed-gender soccer team competing in leagues in New York City. Our off-field charitable DJ events have raised over $16,500 total to date for National Black Justice Coalition, WeDo GoodWorks NYC, Loveland Foundation, Jerimiah Program, and StreetChild USA.

TALEA Beer Co is NYC's first female-founded brewery creating easy-to-love beers from our brewery and taprooms in Williamsburg and Cobble Hill, Brooklyn.

Kelewele NYC is a female-owned, Brooklyn-based healthy lifestyle brand dedicated to making innovative plantain dishes inspired by cuisine from across the globe.

We, like many of you, are sitting with grief and disbelief as we process the outcome of the election. It’s painful to watch as over half the country re-elects a man - a party - that rejects women, treats them as second-class citizens, and believes that they are in a better position to make healthcare decisions about our own bodies than we are.

All feelings are valid. You can be sad. You should be angry. Take the time you need and check in on one another.

We are not stopping.

Donald Trump, JD Vance, and a Republican Senate are set to impose the most restrictive women’s health agenda in our history. They will try to pass a nationwide abortion ban - including instances where the life of the mother is at risk - and eliminate access to medication abortion. They will restrict access to IVF. They will roll back access to birth control, impose a nationwide abortion database to monitor abortions across the country, launch an anti-abortion task force, seek to eliminate Planned Parenthood, and drastically change the fabric of women’s healthcare in this country. Fuck bans.

So let’s stop them before they get started. As a community, we are raising funds to protect and fight for abortion and reproductive care in this country by supporting the National Network of Abortion Funds (abortionfunds.org) which supports abortion funds in each state by providing grants, leadership development, infrastructure support, and technical assistance.
