• Our first project is the heating system! In this aging building, the heating system is failing fast, especially in these cold temperatures. We have found a top-notch, feline-loving HVAC specialist who will completely upgrade our system and get us ready for the 21st century for $15,000, which is a huge discount from what it would cost a regular business. (This repair would normally be upwards of $25,000.)

Hello everyone! Meet Monday - he was rescued after being hit by a car. Even though he is as sweet and playful as can be, his right hip was damaged and has to be surgically repaired. Monday will need an FHO surgery to remove the head and neck of his femur bone. Nashville Cat Rescue won't hesitate to get him the help he needs, but this surgery is expensive and we need help raising the funds to help him!

For over a week, sweet little Claire was sitting in a shelter with an open compound fracture. We can't imagine the pain she was in--her leg bone had been snapped, and it was exposed and healing incorrectly.

Friday morning, this 4 month old entered the care of Nashville Cat Rescue and was immediately seen by our vet, who determined the unhealthy leg was too far damaged and needed to be removed to prevent a lifetime of pain and potential infection. Given the severity of the case, we authorized the procedure without conducting a fundraiser first, hopeful that our generous supporters would see us through.

Claire's procedure went beautifully and she's now recovering in a foster home. She's eating and drinking well and using the litter box like a good little girl. If all continues to go well, her staples will come out on the 20th.

On October 2nd, Nashville Cat Rescue  executed an emergency rescue effort to save the lives of 38 cats and kittens who were scheduled for immediate euthanasia at a nearby animal control facility.  

Our compassionate fosters stepped up to save these lives, finding room in their bathrooms and recruiting new fosters, but now we need your help to cover the cost of veterinary care. Every life saved will need $200+ in vetting, including spays/neuters, vaccinations, flea treatments, and additional medications and vet visits for sick kittens and cats.

Adoption fees will cover approximately half of the costs, but it could be weeks before these kitties are adopted, and that still leaves nearly $4k to raise. NCR will not withhold care from the cats who need it, but this will deplete our emergency funds unless replenished. Your generosity will help us give these cats and future intakes the continued care they need and deserve.
 
Lastly, we'd like to thank the animal-loving folks at Sumner County Animal Control for all they do every day.  The rescue effort was set in motion when they called us begging for help, devastated that they’d had to euthanize dozens of animals after a large-scale “dump” at their facility, and still had dozens more to go today, 10/3. We're grateful that today all the kitties are safely with us, and the AC staff has a much better day ahead of them.

Squeaks is only 7 months old but he’s lived a very tough life. We rescued him from the streets, where he’d been living in frigid temperatures with a broken pelvis, femur, and ankle, neglected by previous owners who no longer wanted him.

Given the severity of the untreated fractures along with significant muscle atrophy and arthritis, multiple vets have recommended amputation. If his injuries had been treated earlier, Squeaks' leg could have been saved, but this sweet boy can still live a happy, healthy life as a tripod.

Ethan is a kitten in Nashville Cat Rescue foster care who needs your help.  He was born with a painful eye issue called eyelid agenesis. In layman’s terms, his eyelids didn’t develop properly, and his eyelashes are constantly rubbing his cornea. That might not sound like much, but it's very painful given all the nerves in the cornea! If gone uncorrected, it could also lead to lesions and infections. In order to correct the deformity, both of his eyes will need entropion surgery performed by a skilled ophthalmologist. 

The estimate for his procedure is $2,085. We rely on the generosity of our supporters and friends to fund these tough, expensive cases, so we’re asking for help us provide the care Ethan needs and deserves.
