Walk for Mental Health 2023 Sponsorships
Dear Panhandle Community,
1 in 5 people are affected by mental illness - our families, our friends, our neighbors, church members, and our community. Often, substance abuse, school and work problems, family dysfunction, homelessness, and suicide are caused by the underlying issue of mental illness. It affects Amarillo. It affects us. Let's work together to raise awareness, end stigma, encourage treatment, and improve mental health services in our community.
This year, in order to use our time and energy most efficiently, we are holding our annual fundraiser virtually. We will be posting recovery testimonials on our Walk website to share how programs provided by NAMI Texas Panhandle and AAMHC Agape Center have helped individuals and families impacted by mental illness in our community. We are encouraging our community leaders, mental health peers, families, friends and health providers to donate to our cause and walk on their own on Saturday, October 7, 2023.
All funds will be evenly divided between NAMI Texas Panhandle and AAMHC-Agape Center, both 501(c)3 nonprofits. Funds will support their FREE, vital, unduplicated mental health services to hundreds of people in the Texas Panhandle. Ask about their:
- Support groups
- Educational classes
- Job skills training
Sponsors who donate $100 or more will be recognized as sponsors of our 11th Annual Walk for Mental Health on our Walk website and on social media. Bronze sponsors: $100, Silver sponsors: $250, Gold sponsors: $500, Platinum sponsors: $1,000, Diamond sponsors: $2,500.
Please support free mental health services in our community. Together we can make a difference!
Sincerely,
Margie Netherton, NAMI TX Panhandle, and Tony Foster, AAMHC Agape Center
