Nala's New Life Rescue

As many of you know, over the last 2 years we have been working on a brand new, state of the art facility in Palm City, FL in cooperation with our partner RUFF Rescue to house and help our wonderful dogs while they wait for adoption. The facility is based on a new concept of comfortable and cute colorful cottages, housing only 6 dogs per cottage. Each dog has it's own indoor space and access to an outside patio all day. The facility also has 5 acres of fenced play yards complete with a pond safe for swimming and exciting space to explore. We are working hard so that life in our shelter is a great experience and fruitful time for each dog.

The facility is secured and having all Ruff's and Nala's  dogs at the same location will greatly increase their exposure and adoptions. The cottages were built to withstand a category 4 hurricane and are on higher ground to prevent flooding. It really is an awesome place.

We are almost there as Barbi has been working non stop on securing funding and donors for work that has already been completed, including an in house generator that will provide electric and water for the dogs during a hurricane. But we now need to reach out to the public to obtain funding to finish the facility. Unfortunately there are no fundraising opportunities this year due to COVID-19 and it has taken a toll on our rescue. Due to many people losing their jobs, there are more dogs than ever at shelters that desperately need our help and Nala's is often their only hope.

Before the facility becomes fully operational, we need to raise another $15,000 that will allow us to complete the last building and the grounds around it. Construction is very expensive these days but it is a worthwhile investment for many years to come that will help save many dogs. We also need to pay for our last A/C unit, the propane tank for the generator, fencing, sod, running pipes and hooking up water to each building, running electric, etc.
