The Board of Directors of Mountain West Mothers' Milk Bank need your help!
Due to ongoing restrictions due to Covid-19, we have been unable to hold our annual gala. Although nothing can replace the networking and fun of an in-person event, we still rely on the money raised from events and ask that you consider donating what you would have spent at the gala.
We began full operations and sold our first milk order in January of 2020 and then like it did for everyone, everything changed. We had to change processes and plans in order to safely collect, pasteurize, and distribute milk in uncertain times.
Despite the challenges and uncertainty in the early days of the pandemic, we were amazed and in awe of the generosity of the families who donated milk. We surpassed our expectations on how many people were still willing to go through screening and donate their precious milk.
We are proud of the achievements of the staff at MWMMB. They stepped up to the plate and figured out how to make things work. We screened and collected record numbers of milk. We have navigated safe practice for drop off locations and hospitals served.
Most importantly, we are meeting our Mission: to promote infant health and nutrition by screening, processing, and dispensing donor human milk, in addition to advocating for and promoting lactation and breastfeeding.
In order to grow, we need funding above the revenue earned which pays for operations. Some of the things needed to move to the next level include:
Shaking water bath $3900
Walk in Freezer $10,000-15,000
Updated community space $5000
Donor recognition items $1000
Remembrance Wall $5000
We hope that you will consider giving any amount to help us feed the sick and premature babies in Utah and the surrounding regions.
