Emergency Shelter Funds Needed – Help Mountain Homeless Coalition House Our Neighbors
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Mountain Homeless Coalition (MHC) is facing a heartbreaking crisis—and we need your help.
We are a nonprofit dedicated to serving those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness across the San Bernardino mountains, from Crestline, Lake Arrowhead, and Running Springs, up through Big Bear Lake, Big Bear City, and Sugarloaf. Unfortunately, as a result of a significant decrease in government funding, we currently lack the resources needed to provide emergency shelter (such as motel rooms) for unhoused individuals and families while we actively pursue permanent housing solutions for them.
Just $85 covers one night in a motel for a family in crisis. Right now, we are turning away people in desperate need because we simply don’t have the funds.
Our Work Is Making a Difference
MHC places nearly one household per week into permanent housing, thanks to a dedicated team and strong community partnerships. While clients are temporarily sheltered, we provide case management and connect them to resources—so they’re not just waiting, they’re actively working toward stability.
We partner with local motel and resort managers to receive discounted rates and work closely with our clients during their stay to ensure a smooth transition to long-term housing. Every dollar you give helps extend a safe place to sleep—and a pathway to a better future.
You Can Be the Difference
Your donation can literally put a roof over someone’s head tonight. Whether you give $5, $85, or more, your support has an immediate, tangible impact. If you can’t donate, please share this fundraiser to help us reach more people.
We are deeply grateful for the compassion and support of our mountain communities. With your help, we can continue this life-saving work.
Thank you,
Sue Walker, President
