Mountain City Public Montessori, Inc

Mountain City Public Montessori is a small charter school in Asheville, NC. We are currently in our second year of operation and serve 140 students K-7, with an additional 20 preschool students enrolled through our partner program, Little Grove Preschool.

Asheville, along with the surrounding area, was hit hard by Hurricane Helene. Our families lost power, communication systems, and water. Some lost their homes. Our school did not sustain much damage and we have power and Internet! There are estimates that water may take weeks to return to our area.

We are hoping to re-open as soon as possible to bring a sense of routine and stability to the families we serve. If we are able to re-open, we can also serve as a hub for families to get potable water, use our wi-fi, and connect with one another. Your support will bring water supplies in to our school to flush toilets, to build hand washing stations, to provide bonuses to our staff for working in exceptional circumstances, to hire additional mental health support staff, and to help provide needed supplies for rebuilding to our staff and students who lost everything.
