The Mount Sinai Hospital (Mt. Sinai)

I was born on 3.21.07 at the Mount Sinai Medical Center (KP7). 13 years later, on 3.21.20, I was supposed to have my Bar Mitzvah, but, well, you know what happened. COVID-19, did.

I was blessed to have the opportunity to be called to the Torah on 3.22.20, in our synagogue's first ever ZOOMITZVAH, but many other things related to my Bar Mitzvah were cancelled or postponed, including the volunteering I was planning on doing with homeless youth as my mitzvah project. So, I've pivoted my mitzvah project focus to the need of our medical workers who are so inspiring to me. Please join me in raising money for supplies and food for the amazing staff at Mount Sinai Medical Center. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.

In an effort to reach out to the community, my friend Hollie Levy started posting some easy and mostly healthy recipes to our community Facebook page to encourage people to stay home and cook. The response was tremendous and inspired me to use my background in graphic design to collaborate and join forces to put together an e-cookbook based on several of the recipes that were generated over this challenging time. 

We are asking for a minimum donation of $15 to receive your e-cookbook via email, please email [email redacted] to receive a copy. The money earned from the purchase of our e-cookbook, aptly named Community Table, will go to Mount Sinai Medical Center, a hospital meaningful to both of us. Your donation will help feed the incredible doctors, nurses and medical staff during this pandemic.

We are a group of kids who want to help.  We thought that we could do something by doing a fundraiser.  You must wonder how this came to be.  Listen closely.

It all started with friends at school.  We had made a club, but when we had to leave school we realized how bad this pandemic was.  When we called each other I realized that we wanted to help.  We wanted to help.

As we know we are just a group of 3rd, 4th and 5th grade kids but we also know that anyone can make a change.  If you do not wish to donate we understand.  We are just kids.  But we do ask that you would help us.  Just like you we want this to end.  By giving us a little money you are making a big change.  Help us, help you, help the world. 

We are in this together.  You are not alone.
