MOMS needs a strong car for the jungle
MOMS trainers drive ourselves through the jungle. In the rainy season especially, the bridges are rotten and slippery. The paths become streams with water coursing through the mud. A strong 4-WD vehicle with a compound low is necessary. Nothing less will get us to the women we teach.
MOMS is Midwives on Missions of Service, and you can learn more at www.GlobalMidwives.org. We're a non-profit agency whose mission is to improve maternal and infant health in the poorest areas of the world.
We teach rural West African birth attendants how to connect their neighbors to the clinics, provide sound maternity care, and support themselves and the poorest women in their villages.
We need a trustworthy vehicle as we drive deep into the jungle. Renting a vehicle like this costs about $1,000 per week, plus diesel fuel.
The women are waiting for our return, for continuing education, encouragement, and companionship.
