Midcoast Youth Theater's Return to the Stage!
HELP Midcoast Youth Theater get Maine kids back on stage in 2022! MYT casts feature kids of all ages (and sometimes even adults!) performing musical theater hits, kids-only shows for the youngest performers, and everything in between.
MYT’s MISSION: Our shows empower youth from all backgrounds through a safe, nurturing musical theater experience. Kids build life skills through teamwork, creative problem solving, public speaking, and risk taking while enhancing self-awareness and self-esteem. MYT embraces people of all backgrounds and walks of life, and finds a place in our shows for everyone who auditions, regardless of experience or finances.
WHY MAKE A GIFT? The pandemic meant two years of expenses with no show revenues coming in. We’ve tightened our belts and just made it through, and now it is time to get back to what we do best: making live musical theater with local performers, especially youth! To do this, we need the community to invest in MYT so we can buy show rights, secure performance and rehearsal venues, purchase costumes, props, microphones and sets, and all of the other elements needed for a wonderful show!
We also want to continue and expand our program of scholarships and free and reduced-price tickets for everyone who needs them.
WHAT WILL MY GIFT ACCOMPLISH? Gifts of all sizes make a real difference! For example:
$50 purchases tickets for a young family of four to see a show they might not otherwise afford.
$250 enables two children to receive full scholarships to perform in an MYT production.
$1000 would fund purchase of costumes and sets for up to 20 kids in a youth production.
$5000 would purchase the performance rights for a full-length musical show!
