About Miami Waterkeeper

Miami Waterkeeper (MWK, formerly Biscayne Bay Waterkeeper) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that protects South Florida’s waters by advocating for resilient solutions grounded in science, rooted in nature, and driven by community. We envision a resilient South Florida that is a global leader in clean water solutions, where thriving communities and nature coexist. Our work focuses on the Biscayne Bay watershed and covers clean water, habitat protection, and sea level rise resiliency. We employ a multidisciplinary approach that consists of science, policy & advocacy, and education & outreach, securing significant protections for our watershed. We are a member of the Waterkeeper Alliance, a global movement united for clean, healthy, and abundant water for all people and the planet.
