Tufts Medicine Care at Home Inc

Many of you know of my mom's long battle with breast cancer. She, like countless others, went through an awful lot before her journey here came to an end. Seeing a loved one suffering is one of the hardest things to endure. We wish we could fix it, but can only control so much.

In her final days, it became so important that she be as comfortable as possible, and where she wanted to be, surrounded by family in her home in York, ME. We could not have made that happen if not for Merrimack Valley Hospice Inc. In conjunction with York Hospital Hospice, they provided the medical equipment, knowledge, care, and most of all patience and kindness that made such an awful event as peaceful and humane as it could be. Since they gave so much and made such a difference, I'd like to give back as my family and I reach the one year anniversary of her passing.

I'm raising money to benefit Merrimack Valley Hospice, Inc. by organizing a 5k walk in her name, in my home town of North Reading, MA on October 2, 2021. It is my goal to have 35 walkers that each raise at least $200 through this site, though any donation will help make an impact. Donations will be accepted through the end of this year. More details of the walk will follow, but it will definitely end with a celebration at my house for all walkers. My mom was always someone that knew how to have a good time and enjoy life, so it's what she would have wanted. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
