A Birthday Fundraiser for Mental Health
My name is Angel and I’m raising $5,000 for MHALA (Mental Health America of Los Angeles), a local nonprofit providing support, housing, advocacy, and community-based care for people facing mental health challenges in LA.
This cause is personal to me.
I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety in high school, and it’s been a long, ongoing journey to find stability, healing, and hope.
There were times I felt completely alone like no one saw me, even when I was trying my best to hold it together.
Times I didn’t know how to ask for help or felt too ashamed to.
Times I smiled through the pain because I didn’t want to burden anyone.
But the truth is: struggling with your mental health should never feel like something you have to do alone.
I’ve made it through a lot and I know there are so many others out there still fighting silently, still showing up even when it’s hard, still holding on.
For my birthday this year, instead of gifts, I’m asking my community to help me raise funds for an organization doing the work to make real care more accessible.
Whether it’s:
• Helping someone get off the streets and into supportive housing
• Providing therapy, case management, or crisis response
• Or simply reminding someone that they matter and that there’s hope
Your donation can be part of that.
Even $5 can make a difference.
And if you can’t donate, I’d be just as grateful if you shared this or sent a word of support.
We rise by lifting others and I believe we’re stronger when we do it together.
With love and gratitude,
Angel
