GatorGears to the Robot Competition
Help the Gator Gears robotics team from Meadow Glen Middle School get to their first EVER international robotics competition!
This special team was chosen to represent South Carolina at the F.I.R.S.T. LEGO Robotics World Championship in Houston, TX from April 17-22. They will be among 108 teams from around the world to compete for college scholarships and awards. They are the first team from Lexington County School District One to compete on the global stage in the FIRST LEGO League.
These six young leaders have worked hard to mentor younger students new to the field of STEM and programing ,while showing tenacity in their own programing, research projects, and team building. They stay until 5pm most school days to work in the STEM lab learning from their failures and improving their robot.
Each member brings a unique skill set to the team. Zaiah has great presentation skills for the project. Will S. is the the ultimate team player, always stepping up where needed. Owen is a great writer, listener and provides the team with specific feedback for improvement. Will B. has an attention to detail and is sure to make all presentations factual and precise. Akhil keeps the team motivated and is constantly moving the finish line, pushing the team to always do better. Michael is a master researcher and problem solver in all areas in competition tasks. All of these skills blend to make the award winning team that the Meadow Glen family is proud to call the Gator Gears.
