Community Book Festival

Our nonprofit organization is thrilled to announce a free book festival aimed at promoting literacy within our community. We believe that by improving access to books and fostering a love for reading, we can make a meaningful impact on literacy rates in Alabama. Alabama faces a significant literacy challenge, with approximately 14.8% of its population considered illiterate. This translates to roughly 73,000 individuals who struggle with basic reading and writing skills. Our festival seeks to address this issue by offering a welcoming and supportive environment where community members can explore the joys of reading.

We will provide free books to attendees, ensuring that everyone has an opportunity to take home new reading materials. Our selection will include a wide range of genres and age-appropriate titles, catering to both children and adults.

Visitors will have the chance to meet local and regional authors who will conduct readings and sign copies of their works. This interaction aims to inspire attendees and introduce them to the creative process behind writing.
