Deadly wildfires are still ravaging Maui and shelters are overflowing with families with their pets. Want to join me in making a difference to support? More information about Maui Humane Society: Maui Humane Society's mission is to protect and save the lives of Maui's animals; accepting all in need, educating the community, and inspiring respect and compassion towards all animals.

According to the Maui Humane Society - all funds raised will go toward performing lifesaving medical procedures on injured pets, as well as purchasing supplies for families who have lost their homes in the blazes. They also continue to coordinate foster services with Maui's residents.

My personal link to Maui - my Mom (maiden name Bernice Ching) was born and raised on Kula, Maui as one of 13 children. Although I was born and raised on Oahu, I cherish the memories of traveling back and forth to Maui for our large family celebrations and gatherings. I have since moved from Hawaii to Wisconsin, and my most recent trip to Maui was last year 2022 to celebrate my Aunty Irene's 100th birthday.

Thankfully - the family I have on Maui are safe and accounted for. Friends in Wisconsin have reached out to me to ask how they can help as there are so many worthy organizations that need donations at this time. My heart has led me to support the Maui Humane Society. I will match each and every donation up to $2,500.

Aloha, My name is Yaz Noya-Collins. I live on the island of Maui, Hawaii. Luckily, my area is safe. As you know many people lost their lives, homes and struggling in their life. I have been volunteering for Maui Humane Society for almost 3 years. There are a lot of animals struggling with their life too out there. Animals give us unconditional love and hope every day. We go out there and rescue for animals, and deliver food and items for people with pets every day. I am asking my friends to share stories and asking for any funds for the animals who can not speak up for help by themselves. We need money for the insured animals, and care of the animals who separate from the families. Please open your arms to save those animals. In Hawaii, Ohana means Family. You guys are my Ohana. I am grateful to know you as my Ohana.

Yaz Noya-Collinsと申します。ハワイのマウイ島に住んでいます。皆さんすでにご存じかと思いますがマウイ島での大きな火事で多くの人々が亡くなり、家を失くしてしまいました人間だけではなく、多くの動物達も行き場を失い、オーナーから離れ離れになっています。私がMaui Humane Societyにボランティアを始めてから３年がたち、多くの動物達が私たちに愛と希望を与えてくれています。今、我々はそんな動物達のためにレスキューを行い、又離れ離れになったオーナーとの再会に力を入れています。傷ついた動物達の救援活動のため、全てを失ってしまったオーナーの方達への動物物資の支援など、みなさんに少しでもご支援をお願いしたい、とGo Fund Meを立ち上げました。ハワイではファミリーのことをOhana と呼びます。ここに来て下さったみなさんは私のOhanaです。是非ご協力をお願いします。

From Maui Humane: "With our population over capacity before this tragedy, we are running extremely low on space, supplies, and fosters. As we are experiencing tragedy or know someone who is, we will need to band together as a community for both our humans and animals. If you are in a position to help, please do... We need donations. Pet food, pop-up kennels, and litter are pivotal to providing sustenance to animals who have been burned, lost during the evacuation process and those in need of critical care due to smoke inhalation. We need the kennel space to be able to house these animals in hopes of reuniting them with their 'ohana's once this is all over"
