Support MATHCOUNTS in Boulder Colorado !
I need your help with funding this year's Boulder MATHCOUNTS competition! I am the Boulder County MATHCOUNTS chapter coordinator.
Please share this link with your friends, family, and school associates.
This year, the math isn’t adding up to a successful competition for Boulder County. Without significant funding, the entire Boulder County competition could be at risk.
MATHCOUNTS NEEDS YOUR HELP.
MATHCOUNTS is a national math competition for middle school students (grades 6-8). More than 100 students from public and private Boulder County schools have been practicing and preparing for this essential local competition.
MATHCOUNTS is about solving problems in a timed, competitive situation using algebra, geometry, probability, pure counting, and number theory skills.
MATHCOUNTS gets students passionate about Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
This year our students and Boulder MATHCOUNTS need you. After some challenging COVID-19 years, we are looking for new funding sources to support these terrific students.
The math is simple. We need $1,500 or about $15 per student.
Boulder MATHCOUNTS covers the cost of breakfast and lunch on competition day. We ensure the winners get nice trophies, and every competitor receives a button and a bit of swag that shows they counted. MATHCOUNTS in our community is run completely by volunteers. We are working and retired STEM professionals who share our passions with students.
Did I mention that the buzzer system died last year, and we need to replace that? (It is only possible to have a great competition with a working buzzer system!)
Won’t you help? Your help may mean the next Steve Jobs or Katherine Johnson, or the next Sally Ride is a Boulder County student. Or maybe a student will simply get and stay excited about education. Your gift–large or small–will matter to the students, the math world, and our community.
Do the math yourself. What is it worth to have intelligent, competitive students excited about math in our community? What is that number? Now, click the link below and give a gift that reflects your commitment.
MATHCOUNTS! It truly does. Help us help the students today. Thank you.
PS: All Donors are welcome to join us at the MATHCOUNTS Boulder County Chapter Competition at Altona Middle School in Longmont, Colorado on Saturday February 24 from 9am to 2pm. It will be a great day!
