Mark Tank Forman Memorial Scholarship, Inc.

Greetings Friends and Family--

Normally we would be gearing up for our Mark "Tank" Forman fundraising event - but like so many other events across the nation and world,  we've had to pivot this year.  That being said, this year for our 3rd Annual "MTF" Scholarship Drive, we will have to rely solely on donations through our Go Fund Me page.  Thanks to your great generosity, over the past two years, we have awarded $16,000.00 in scholarship money to graduates from Leavenworth High School in honor of Mark's memory.

For those who don't know this story, please take a moment to read about our dear friend, Retired Colonel, Mark "Tank" Forman below and consider joining us as we continue to build this scholarship program to honor his love of life and support of kids.  Any donations will help make an impact.  Thanks in advance for your contribution that means so much to us all!

Retired Colonel Mark "Tank" Forman lost his life in a bike accident June 1, 2017.   On that day, the world lost a hero in every sense of the word.  A hero who made everyone he met just a little bit better, try just a little harder, and believe in the cause a little more firmly.  You couldn't be worried, anxious, or angry for very long when you were around him.  He had the uncanny ability to make anything that sucked, suck a little less, often a lot less.  It didn't take long for anyone that met him to realize that he lived large and had the personality to match!  He knew what was important in life and lived life to the fullest every day.  He was a role model of a dedicated husband and loving father.  Mark was an Infantry Army Officer for 30 years. He enjoyed family, friends, hunting, fishing, coaching football, and his Nebraska Cornhuskers.

The funds collected will be the beginning of the Leavenworth High School Mark "Tank" Forman Scholarship Fund.  This scholarship will be eligible to student athletes planning to pursue secondary education through military, technical, junior college, university.

Thank you for your funding consideration, and I will leave you with words of wisdom from Mark to the LV Pioneers on a game night in 2010: 

"Stop acting as if life is a rehearsal.  Live this day as if it were your last.  The past is over and gone.  The future is not guaranteed... Let's Get R' DONE!!!

The 2nd Annual Tank Mark Forman (TMF) Scholarship Drive is underway!!!

Thanks to your generous giving last year, we were able to award nine $1,000.00 scholarships to graduates from Leavenworth High School in Leavenworth, Kansas.

Students awarded will be attending colleges across our great nation to include:  Ottawa University, Rogers State University, Oklahoma State University, Kansas State University, Wichita State University, Texas A&M University, Creighton University, Missouri Western State University, and University of Nebraska-Lincoln - Mark would be so proud and honored to know he helped do this!

As we kick off our campaign, we are asking that you please consider once again a donation to honor an amazing soldier, husband, father, and friend - Mark "Tank" Forman.
