Aloha! We are raising funds to produce a documentary about the Mānoa Cliff Native Reforestation Project. This inspiring story will create awareness about the huge impact that community forests have in restoring important ecosytems and connecting people to nature.
The Mānoa Cliff Native Reforestation Project is an ongoing 20 year old community-led conservation project dedicated to protecting the diverse remnant native forest at the summit of Pu`u `Ohi`a. Thanks to the efforts of countless volunteers, the 6-acre site is now home to thriving rare and endangered native species and is easily accessible to the average hiker on O’ahu.

The documentary will be produced by Emmy Award winning Hawaiʻi filmmaker, Matt Yamashita of Quazifilms, known for his films about conservation, environment, and culture.
The final documentary will broadcast across the State of Hawaiʻi on the longrunning OC16 TV show, Outside Hawaiʻi, which is produced by Pauline Sato at the Mālama Learning Center. It will reach tens of thousands of viewers on Outside Hawaiʻi and also be made available online via multiple video platforms including Youtube, Vimeo, and Facebook.

Funds will go entirely towards the filming (interviews, restoration efforts, native species, etc.), editing, and broadcast of this 10-minute documentary. All donations are tax deductible and go to Mālama Learning Center 501c3.
Every contribution, big or small, makes a real impact. Even just a few dollars can help move this project forward.
If you can’t donate right now, sharing this fundraiser is also incredibly helpful.
Mahalo Nui!
