- Lisa Klein is fundraisingHello from the founder of Loved Twice. For the last 19 years, we have dedicated our services to helping newborns in need by providing warm baby clothing. This GoFundMe campaign will allow us to drive a U-Haul down to the Los Angeles area and hand-deliver baby clothes to victims of the California Wildfire. Our nonprofit was born helping the tiny victims of Hurricane Katrina, and we are ready to help in this natural disaster too.
With the recent devastating fires in Los Angeles, families have lost everything, and we urgently need your support to bring comfort to families with infants who are facing unimaginable hardship.
Our mission is simple yet vital: to provide clothing for babies who might otherwise go without. We understand that a basic need like clean, comfortable clothing can offer more than warmth—it provides dignity and security during times of crisis.
The wildfires in Southern California have left many families homeless and vulnerable, and they now face the added burden of providing for their newborns in the midst of such chaos. By funding this project, you can help us distribute clothing to infants in shelters, emergency housing, and displaced families in need.
We are collaborating with local social workers in Los Angeles who are on the front lines of this crisis. These dedicated professionals will be instrumental in distributing the clothing directly to families in need. Social workers are already embedded within the emergency response networks and work closely with shelters, community centers, and disaster relief agencies to identify families with young children who have been displaced by the fires. They will ensure that every clothing set reaches the most vulnerable babies, providing immediate comfort and helping to restore a sense of normalcy during this difficult time.
With funding, we WILL drive down 400 lovingly packaged “wardrobe-in-a-box” filled with clothes for their first year of life. Each box holds 75+ warm essential garments (onesies, pants, socks, hats, bibs, a warm blanket, and a board book to promote early childhood reading). Your donation will allow us to distribute 30,000 infant garments into underserved communities with an estimated retail value of $105,000.
Funds will be spent on: baby clothes, boxes, boy/girl stickers, tape, gas, U-Haul rental. Funds from this campaign will allow us to collect over 30,000 baby garments, wash, package, and drive down and distribute.
These boxes are ready to hand-deliver to families who have lost everything. These items are not just practical—they are a symbol of love and care at a time when these families need it most.
We are committed to making sure every dollar of your donation goes directly to getting these clothes to those who need them most. Loved Twice is run with the support of passionate volunteers and donors like you, which means we have a low overhead and can ensure your contribution makes a significant impact.
I kindly ask you to consider partnering with us to make this critical project a reality. With your support, we can bring immediate relief to these babies and help restore a sense of normalcy and care during an incredibly difficult time.
Warm regards,

About our nonprofit:Loved Twice started in 2005 when Lisa Klein, Founder and Executive Director, responded to a Craigslist appeal for donations of baby clothing after Hurricane Katrina. Having just had her first child, Lisa was deeply moved to contribute. She rallied other San Francisco Bay Area mothers and collected 200 pounds of clothing for the babies in Louisiana in just four days. While mailing off the onesies, swaddling blankets, and other donated newborn clothes, she realized that the same simple process of recycling gently used baby clothing to provide for infants in need could be applied to her home state of California, and in fact, was easily replicable in communities across the country. Lisa founded Loved Twice to help underprivileged newborns in her own community, giving disadvantaged babies a better start in life.
Our impact to date:Since 2005, Loved Twice has provided 34,711 newborns a full year’s worth of baby clothes, helping vulnerable families meet their basic needs while keeping over 347,110 pounds of clothing out of landfills. This includes 2,603,325 essential garments recycled into underserved communities with an estimated retail value of $9,111,637.
We stand ready and can't wait to help.0 supporters
